God gave me a vision several months ago to do an all pink series of paintings to benefit my sweet friend Sherry Pierce Hartfield. I have known Sherry for many years. Her daughters, Cora Beth and Meade Hartfield, were my Tri-Delta sorority sisters, and Cora Beth was my roommate at Mississippi State University.

In March of 2012, Sherry was diagnosed with stage IV inflammatory breast carcinoma (IBC), a very rare and aggressive form of breast cancer with no known cure. This "no lump" form of breast cancer was not detected on a mammogram, which Sherry had almost 8 months prior to her diagnosis. She continues to undergo regular treatments in Jackson, Mississippi.

Sherry's faith shines through her always. It is a legacy she has given to her daughters, Cora Beth & Meade, and to all who know her. God continues to be glorified through Sherry's diagnosis. As Sherry puts it, "Yes, I have a stage IV, a 'stage for' Him." The verse she lives by is Psalm 118:24, "This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." More than a year and a half after her diagnosis, tests show no evidence of the disease, a true testimony to the remarkable strides in treatment and the awesome power of prayer.

I painted this limited series of pink paintings to bless and honor Ms. Sherry through the gift of creativity that God has given me. I think it is important for you to know exactly where the money from this project will go. When you purchase a painting, half of the money will go directly to Sherry. The other half will help cover the expenses of the work and making it accessible to the public.
